A MARRIAGE BENEDICTION

                                                                     

“May your marriage bring you all the fulfillment a marriage should bring and may the Lord give you patience, tolerance, and understanding. May it be full of joy and laughter, as well as comfort and support. May you discover the true depth of love through loving one another.

Remember that every burden is easier to carry when you have the shoulders of two instead of one. When you are weary and discouraged, look to Jesus to refresh and strengthen you.

May you always need one another – not so much to fill your emptiness, as to help you to know your fullness. May you always need one another, but not out of weakness. Rejoice in and praise one another’s uniqueness, for God is the Creator of both male and female and differences in personality.

Be faithful to one another in your thoughts and deeds and above all, be faithful to Jesus. May you see the marriage bed as an altar of grace and pleasure. May you remember that each time you speak to one another you are talking to someone that God has claimed and told “You are very Special”. View and treat your partner as one who was created in the image of God. Remember that you are not to hold your partner captive, but to give them freedom to become all that God wants them to be. May you then embrace and hold one another but not encircle one another.

May God renew your minds so you look to draw out the best and the potential in one another. Look for things to praise, never take one another for granted, often say, “I love you”, and take no notice of little faults. Affirm one another, defer to one another, and believe in your partner. If you have differences that push you apart, may both of you have good sense enough to take the first step back. May the words “You’re right”, “Forgive me”, and “I forgive you” be close at hand.

Thank you, heavenly Father, for Your presence here with us and for your blessing upon this marriage.

MASTURBATION AND PORNOGRAPHY

The menace that is eating deeply into our society and must have to be dealt with seriously!

The menace I am referring to here is “masturbation and pornography”.

Masturbation means stroke genitals that is to give yourself or somebody else sexual pleasure by stroking the genitals, usually to orgasm. To masturbate means to rub or touch the sex organs of (yourself or someone else) for sexual pleasure. (American English Dictionary).

Pornography is any films, magazines, writings, photographs, or other materials that are sexually explicit and intended to cause sexual arousal. On the other hand, it can be pictures that show or describe sexual acts or naked people for the purpose of exciting people sexually and usually for no other purpose. . (American English Dictionary).

Masturbation is no doubt rampart in our society today. This silent and chronic menace is no doubt eating deeply in the lives of youth today. Research has shown that most of the youth are seriously into masturbation, pornography, per-marital sex, homosexuality and lesbianism and feel okay. They engage in it and thereby living in curses unknowingly. But I will dwell on Masturbation and pornography.

Masturbation and pornography are twin brothers and are causing serious problem to the youths out there.

It is quite certain that some of us (youth) are struggling with it unknowingly, while there are some that really want to come out but don’t know how? Worse still, there are some that don’t want to come out, who become slaves to it. The good news is that, whatever category you belong, there is always a way out.

How to know you are a victim of Masturbation and Pornography

If you like or even find fulfillment sexually in watching things or involving in things that is always arousing your sexual ego is the sign that you are suffering with masturbation and pornography.

Effects of Masturbation and Pornography

These of course have a negative effect on its victims. There are many effects, below are some of them:

1.         Low sperm count: This means that victims always find it difficult to satisfy their wives or husbands when they married. Instead of finding pleasure in having sex with their spouse and enjoy their marriages. The implication is that this mostly causes high rate of separation or divorce in marriages today. Sex is very important in marriage and the major thing that bind couples together. The saddest thing is the one creating crisis in our homes today. Our homes is suppose to a resting place, place where we can find peace, joy and ease from all the stress we have got from outside, not to add to our stress.

2.         Low self esteem: Self esteem has do with self image that is how one look at his/herself. In order word, it is the value one place on his/herself. People suffering from masturbation or pornography most times have low self esteem, they also appear guilty, and they limit themselves to a certain level in life. Life is meant to be enjoyed and God created us with purpose and nothing is supposed to stop us from achieving that purpose.

3.         Emotional trauma: This has to with a stage of being in distress, pain, disturbance, upset, etc that deliberately comes to someone that engages in illicit act. People suffering from masturbation and pornography thought that indulging in it, is the best way of overcoming loneliness, but that’s not true. Truth is that it worsens the feel of loneliness. Life itself sometimes can bring pains to us as long as we’re living, because of the unforeseen circumstances that we find ourselves but it is meant to groom, build and equip us in order to be great and impact our world positively, not the kind of pains that will torment us which comes from masturbation and pornography.

            Others may include: lack of peace, sense of guilt all the time.

This Menace has no doubt created lots of problems to the youth and is stopping them from moving forward in life. This has also put some of us in dungeon and makes us belief the lie that we cannot come out of it or live as free people and enjoy life to the fullest. 

How to be free from it

Whether we like it or not, we must have to know that, this is a cancan worm and it has to be dealt with. It will interest you to know that this is found even in the home, school, church and mosque and anywhere we can think of in our society today. You know what? These has also created a problem between us and our elders who are in power, they don’t want to give way for us to take over from them. Why? Truth is that the elders are afraid of the kind of legacies that the youths will pass on to the younger ones considering the kind of illicit act they (youth) are engaging in. They are afraid of the kind of worthless and way-worth leaders that will mount into leadership. No wonder they don’t want to give way for us.

Time has come for the youths to prove them wrong, to show them that we are capable and qualify to take over from them. To give them a sense of relieve that there is nothing to worry about how the future will be, because we are now a wonderful, vibrant, visionary youth that will bring a great change to our country if even a chance. To show them that yes indeed! We are ready to face any challenges of life and overcome it, that we are now a responsible people with bright future for the growth and development of our country.

How can this be?

First of all, we must accept the fact that this menace is right within us and that most of us are struggling with it and are dying in silence. We must accept that we have a problem that needs urgent solution.

Secondly, you cannot be free from the power of masturbation and pornography when you remain in hidden, secret places and closed doors. So, for the victims out there, the sure way of coming out is to speak out, is to be open and look for help. The joy is that you can be helped. There are lots and lots of great and trained Counselors out there who can help you to come out of it. Don’t be shy, run to them and they will be willing to help. I know of people like Innocent Usar, Praise Fowowe and others, whom you can find on facebook. This is the right time, don’t die in silence, be open and you will find help. It is very possible to come out of masturbation and pornography.

The youth are said to be the bread winner of any society. Any society that lacks youth in her midst is bound to collapse, because there will be no future for that society to remain in existence. What kinds of activities do you as a young person engages in right now? What are the things you surround yourself with now? Whatever you do today will be the outcome of what you will give out to this generation (garbage in, garbage out) now or tomorrow. So, let us do away with any vices that will tarnish our image and damage our bright future. Let us engage ourselves in ‘PRODUCTIVE THINGS’ that will shape and make us great leaders tomorrow.

Let us not forgive that this and the next generations are looking to us for a great change in our society. Let us not disappoint them!

CHANGE!

The word CHANGE can be define as; "To become or make difference. To substitute or replace something. To pass from one place to another."


Based on the definition above, change has to do with moving from one stage to a better one. Change is good to us and is very necessary for one to adopt. It is quite sad that we as people don't want to embrace change in our lives. We always stick to our own normal way of doing things, thereby missing out the blessings is that is in change.


With me here is an article of an unknown author that talks about the importance of change, which many individuals and organisations applied and it brought a positive results in the of individual and employees' work performance. Happy reading!
"One day all the employees reached the office and they saw a big notice on the door on which it was written: 'yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym'. 


In the beginning, they all got sad for the death of one of their colleagues, but after a while they started getting curious to know who was that man who hindered the growth of his colleagues and the company itself.
The excitement in the gym was such that security agents were ordered to control the crowd within the room. The more people reached the coffin, the more excitement heated up. Everyone thought: 'who is this guy who was hindering my progress?' 'Well, at least he died!'


There was a mirror inside the coffin: Everyone who looked inside it could see himself.
There was also a sign next to the mirror that said: 'There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth: It is YOU.'


You are the only person who can revolutionise your life. 
You are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realisation and your success.
You are the only person who can help yourself.
Your life does not change, when your boss changes, when your friends change, when your parents change, when your partner changes, when your company changes.
Your life changes when YOU change, when you go beyond your limiting beliefs, when you realise that you are the only one responsible for your life. 


'Examine yourself, watch yourself, handle yourself well in front of others.'
'Don't be afraid of difficulties, impossibilities and losses: Be a winner, build yourself and your reality.'
'The most important relationship you can have; is the one you have with yourself.'


It is not what happens to us, it's the way we choose to handle life that makes the difference."


Wow, What a great lesson to learn there! The secret of success does not lies in holding unto what you claim to know only, but striving to know new things everyday. The true is that, until one sees the need to change everyday, will not understand the secret of being successful in life.

So, we need to embrace change, don’t be so rigid in your thinking. Allow change to have its way in your life and make you a better person. You are more than what you think you are. You can do more than what you are doing now, if only you can change the method you use to apply to the one that is better.

Look around your life, and try to ask yourself these questions: what is it that I love to do and I’m being tight down by something that could not allow me to do it? What is it that is robbing my peace and joy? What is it that is making me to feel guilty or regret at the end? What is it that is telling me I can’t make it in life? What is it that is making me to be comfortable to the level I am? Until you deal with whatever that is pulling you down not to reach to the zenith of your life, not to reach to the place where God desire you to reach, it will be very difficult for you to accept change.

Friends, we all need change in our lives. When I talk of change, I mean positive change. We need to be where God destined us to be. He desires us to enjoy life here on this world and the life after. This can be possible if only you allow Him (Jesus Christ) to make change a reality in your life. Just let go, you can be great in life, you can make it.

Change is like a food you eat to keep body and soul alive. 

You need it everyday!

Define Your Life

What is this life all about?

What is the purpose of life?

Sometimes, we tend to ask these questions within us or deeply in our hearts when life seems unfair. Better still, when we're tired of living. When nothing seems to happen around us despite our struggles, or when we couldn't find fulfillment in our life. Is there anyone come this stage in his or her life? I did.

Until you come to this point in your life, you've not starting the journey of life yet. You must reach to the point that you are not satisfy with the level you are now. Then, you will begin to find answers to the questions above. Answering these questions will enable you to achieve your destiny in this life.

By the time you discover the purpose of your life in this world, before you will be able to give life a meaning. Your level of thinking will widen your understanding or knowledge of life. You will not define it in one aspect but in a wider range. There is more to life, not just on the surface or one side of it.  You need to excel in every facet of life, the ability to achieve that has been granted unto us by God. Know that, there are no limitations to the level you want to reach in life, only you can create the boundaries or barriers in achieving your destiny in life. As William Barclay once said ; “There are two great days in person's life-the day we are born and the day we discover why". ...

The true of the matter is that, we fail to know that life has a lot to offer not only on the level we are now. We think that, life is all about fun, but on the contrary, it is far beyond that.

By the time you know the purpose of your existence, and then you will be able to discover your destiny and work hard to achieve it.

It is good for you to understand that God has created you for purpose. He had you in mind even before you were born and knows what you will become in the future. So, the fact that, you are alive today is not by an accident, there is a reason for your being into this world.

I discover that, the more I ask myself the above questions, the more closer I am in reaching my destination. I discover that, there are lots and lots of potentials in me that are yet to be discover, and by answering these questions, it pushes me to work more harder in discovering them, thereby living according to the purpose of my existence. To me, life is worthless without impacting the lives of others positively and doing it to His glory.

My heart cries out each day to fulfill the reason for my existence in this world. To discover those potentials and use it to the benefit of humanity and to the glory and honour of His (God) name.

The whole of the matter is that, it is very easy to discover the purpose of our existence here on earth. The Key to that is JESUS CHRIST. If you can surrender your life to Him, then He will help you to define your life and fulfill the reason for your living. Why not allow Him to come and make the different in your life, then your life will never be the same again.

He is the reason why we live!
